Empowering wisdom of the crowd
Operator of crowdwitness is @svemirac, you may know him well from great communities such as Team Serbia, yu-STEM, Curie, OCD & Danger zone, steemSTEM, VostokArmy, daVinci translation project or you just ran at his content or you two met each other in the comment section on various posts.
2. Crowd’s Server specification
@crowdwitness is operating on a server with specifications listed below:
• Intel Xeon E5-1650V2
• RAM – 4x16GB DDR3
• SAS HDD – 600GB
• 1 Gbit
If the higher specs are needed in the future we will immediately upgrade our servers, adding more RAM and computational power.
3. Why did we start this witness?
We are on Steemit since the end of 2017. Up to this point we have been actively engaging in numerous projects and communities, which gave us an insight to a key potential of this platform. It is something that Steemit has recognized and plans to do with Hivemind, basically our goal is to support all projects and authors who will empower the wisdom of crowd.
During late night talks one small and crazy idea was constantly stinging and growing at the back of our minds. Possibility of bringing crowdsourcing project onto STEEM blockchain and using it to support offline ideas and promising projects, while also giving support to its users and making a nexus between two worlds is something definitely worth doing.
4. Intentions and plans?
First and foremost to support every valuable crowdsourcing project. The core purpose of crowdwitness is to fully support @crowdmind. Beside crowdsourcing projects that permeate both offline and online worlds, we intend to support verified and developing communities with respected team members like steemSTEM and its local branch yu-STEM, another high quality and growing community is on this supporting list – TeamSerbia.
As members and authors of both steemSTEM and yu-STEM, we recognized that these communities encourage scientific debates and discussing about certain topic, both from professional scientists and just enthusiasts for science which gives us something of an incentive crowd wisdom.
@yu-STEM currently has about 10 high quality and active authors, which are already spreading a word inside our science faculties and dormitories to bring more people in.
@teamserbia has over 100 members and two active contests, weekly photography contest and monthly contest (writing, art, music, cooking, etc.) which fits perfectly in crowd creation group.
Davinci translation project is another significant project we will support for their crowd creation effort and work they do with translation of open source projects.
We are open for collaborations with other projects and we will be closely monitoring new projects and already existing ones that we can help. One of the new projects we have set eyes upon is a great initiative of quora-like app for science – stemQ.
With development of the platform we will keep our pace and grow as well, with our increasing strength we will be able to support more and more projects. We are open for discussion with other project leaders and collaboration with them.
Our actions will speak for our project – follow @crowdmind for more information of what we are doing, every significant action will be published on our blog and website.
