Real Madrid escaped into the Semi-final of the 2018 UEFA Champions League after a late penalty that saw world footballer Christiano Ronaldo cancel out a 3-3 draw against Italian Champions Juventus. The Italian giants who lost the fist leg 3-0, came determined and was up by 3 goals before the late spot kick against them in the 93rd minute. The incident that led to penalty which many claimed was a soft foul by Mehdi Benatia (Juventus) also saw Gianluigi Buffon sent off for pushing the referee in protest of the penalty. Ronaldo who is the highest goal scorer for this season's Champions League made no mistake in scoring the spot kick and recording his 15th goal. In the other game of the night, Bayern Munich played a 0-0 draw with Sevilla to qualify, after 2-1 first leg win.
After an entertaining quarterfinal, all eyes are now set for the semi final draw on Friday after 4 teams ( Bayern München (GER) Liverpool (ENG)Real Madrid (ESP) Roma (ITA) made it to the next round of the Competition. The draw will start 12:00 Central Eastern Time, on Friday 13th April at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon. The first legs of the semi final will be on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 April, with the return leg on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd May. We wish all the teams the best ahead of the finals.
