How To Support Musicians On Steemit And Earn Curation Rewards By Following The Open Mic Trail --- by @luzcypher
Let's Keep @pfunk In The Top 20 Witnesses By Voting For Him As A Steemit Witness
@pfunk has been sponsoring Steemit Open Mic since I first started it and I want to give a big thank you to him and all the people who support and take part in Steemit Open Mic.
More Open Mic Sponsors
Over the last week Open Mic was contacted and offered some more sponsorship from:
@ausbitbank is a top 20 witness on Steemit involved in more supporting projects on the Steem blockchain than I can list. He is a big part of the minnowsupportproject.org, the Peace, Abundance, and Liberty network on Discord, and delegates to many good causes on Steemit. You can vote for him as a wtness here. He just reached out and donated 100 Steem per week to help Open Mic
@Curie helps curate new people who contribute good content and has been supporting Open Mic musicians behind the scenes since Open Mic started. They helped me and countless others get our posts seen when we first started on the platform. Many Open Mic musicians have been featured on their weekly Author's Showcase posts. They are a top 20 witness and have contributed 25 Steem per week for the next two months to help Open Mic. You can vote for them as witness here
MSP-Waves Radio in association with the Minnow Support Project and the Peace, Abundance, Liberty Network is a weekly radio program hosted by @Krystle, @swelker101, and @isaria that features the weekly Top 5 judges picks from Steemit Open Mic. Not only do they give weekly prizes to audience picked performers from the contest, but they have also started sponsoring Open Mic with a 25 Steem weekly donation! How cool is that? Thank you for helping support musicians on the Steemit platform.
And thanks to @meno's initiative the community has come together to support Open Mic. Many of you have created posts in support of the Open Mic community and have donated a portion of the rewards from those posts to @openmic so we can keep doing what we do, build a great community of musicians on Steemit. You guys are the best and we feel appreciative and inspired!

Steemit Open Mic Judges
Special thanks to @meno for help judging the contest this week. Great job.
Steemit Open Mic is not about winning or losing, it's about building a connections on Steemit through music. Watching the collaborations happen online between musicians who played and met on Steemit Open Mic is very rewarding and many of the people who play and post earn some nice rewards for playing a song.
For many, it's easier to get some Steem in your tip jar by playing for Steemit Open Mic than it is to play music on the street.

The openmic tag has earned a total of: 240,433.700 SBD worth $245,242.37 USD At Today's Prices of $1.02 SBD (Average of $2,381 per week in 103 weeks +plus has paid out over 29,100 Steem in prizes!
NOTE: Having a trending post is not how judges pick entries for their Top 5 weekly picks. Sometimes you will trend because of a variety of reasons. Congratulations! You don't need to win Open Mic to earn rewards and build your audience. As you can see, sometimes trending posts earn more than the contest rewards! You could trend by getting curated by other curation groups like @curie for example. The judges look for entertainment value which, of course, is very subjective and varies over time. Just keep playing and engaging with the community which is the whole point of Open Mic. If you love music, we love you.

Pechiche has been on fire lately! Despite this being a product of a short poem inspired by the various muses that enable a song to come to life, “El Molino” can just as easily translate into a song of many meanings. The production value, execution, melodies, and vocal harmonies are splendid! This composition amongst many others, is a keeper for sure, Pechiche! - @passion-ground
I often ignore pechi's entries, and honestly, as much as I do so because I want to be fair to everyone, its hard for me to ignore this little masterpiece and feel like I'm doing things the right way. I'm not alone in the opinion that this song is a superb example of his work and talent, and the harmonies are just out of this world. - @meno
"Pechi your songs and productions are so sweet and so clean and you are always a blessing to listen to, just beautiful as always. mwah " - @soundlegion
You really create memorable moments with your music bro. You pour your all into your performances and take the details of musicality and intention to its limitations. I feel like I am watching a blissful ending to a cinematic movie and your song is the perfect closing soundtrack to a wonderful story told as the credits rise up on the screen. This has a romantic lining and poetic feel to it, and really reaches the heart. Great original by far, and a wonderful gem to share on our 2 year anniversary. Thank you for another hit, always looking forward to your music. - @verbal-d
This is another spectacular example of your phenomenal talents, truly just a stunning song and performance - those harmonies are breathtaking man, you just have so much skill and ability it cannot be contained. - @krystle
You won 40 Steem
With his low-key creative genius, Shook surprises us yet again with a special tribute to the two-year anniversary of Open-Mic. Quite honestly, rap was one of the last things I expected from Shook, however, “Steemit Openmic Check” is simply brilliant! From the crafty lyrics to the various layers of a Shook-styled jazzified-funk, his rap and groove captivate the listener throughout. The production value, percussion, vocals, and entertainment value are quite rich. The haunting horns offer a unique and melodramatic finishing touch to the entire piece. - @passion-ground
One of the grooviest, trippiest things I've had the pleasure to enjoy on this contest or more accurately said on this platform in general. Shook is somewhat of a little musical genius, but you would not know that from his humble nature. - @meno
"So you have hit my impressed button a few times, but this was out of the box so much I just have to love you after this, I was both amused and grooved at the same time, your bars cracked me right up! flow mate really flow "It'll never go away" we so need to collab! Talent Alert, may have been goofy but this had flavor" - @soundlegion
You won 26 Steem
"you guys are sooo cool , this was awesome, a full and free feel out in that tropical? island jungle? setting lol I was loving it all the way, I would love to have been apart of that looks like great fun, loved the sounds and all the instruments you guys nailed some vibes here" - @soundlegion
A collection of some of the most talented musicians from Brazil on Steem, What??? I really enjoyed this, very much actually. I mean, I've been listening to Ravi and Lisa forever and knew it was going to be good, but this was just excellent. Impossible to listen to this and not smile. - @meno
This was a very chill, laid back grooving reggae tune and Open Mic's very own @lisamalletart & @rhavi compliment the chemistry of this reggae band Trilumia, which also consists of @uriell and @faowna. You consistently bring us good vibes and positive feelings with this welcoming cover choice and you hardly disappoint with the energy you provide for us all. You are highly valued and respected for your passion for music and your consistently enjoyable performances. Thanks for another one and looking forward to your next entry, be it original or another cover. - @verbal-d
The harmonies really stood out as an amazing feature for me, the vocals generally were spot on - but it was the overall feel and vibe you all give off when performing, it's not only entertaining but relaxing. - @krystle
You won 26 Steem
With brilliant accompaniment from @enriquemarval, Diana has done it once again! This time, she has taken a classic from Elvis, the King of Pop, and made it her very own. Diana’s vocal performance is simply wonderful. Her voice is pure, angelic, and replete with all manner of exquisite nuance and inflection. I can’t help falling in love with Diana week after week! - @passion-ground
"always so impressed with this voice, just ahhhh love it, so crystle and beautiful. Great quick runs on them pipes and again love the guitar accompany.. big love guys this is a big song to carry and you did it fantastic" - @soundlegion
Together there is a harmonic beauty to the sound you create, I have to say together you both compliment each others style and performance just incredibly - it is entrancing to behold, this was just truly exceptional. - @krystle
You won 26 Steem
With extraordinary musical accompaniment from @danieledosd2, Maria’s vocal rendition of “Smile” is stunningly beautiful. The shift in pitch mid-way through was executed perfectly. The loving care and passion in which this classic is presented and performed had me smiling quite warmly through and through. - @passion-ground
Maria is a singer for singers. It's one of those vocal talents that makes the #openmic proud and I'm sure I speak for all judges on this one. From that first entry those months ago that blew us out of the water, her entries never fall short of fantastic. Beautifully performed. - @meno
